Gingersnap Cookies

This is a recipe that I make frequently and also the most requested recipe. Just click on the picture to obtain the recipe!

Gingersnaps
Ingredients:

¾ cup shortening    

2 ¼ cup sifted all-purpose flour   

1 teaspoon ground ginger 1 cup brown sugar    

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ¼ cup molasses      

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon ground cloves 1 egg 
Instructions:

Cream the shortening, brown sugar, molasses and egg until fluffy.  Sift together the flour,  soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and ginger; stir into molasses mixture. Form in small balls.  Roll in granulated sugar; place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate over (350 degrees) for 8-10 minutes, or just until slightly browned. Makes about 5 dozen.
